Notes
My fondest memories are when we’d go to Grandma Nora’s home for dinner every Sunday and the whole gang was there. Holidays were even better because of the specialties that Grandma & Grandpa had ready for us. One of my very favorites was Struffoli and Zeppole, oh my goodness was I in for a delicious treat. Actually my best memories of my Grandparents were when we would get together with Famiglia anytime, I miss and Love my Grandparents Giambalvo very much. My dear Zeppole! I absolutely love them! They are a beloved treat in Sicily & Italy, especially during holidays and festivals. Zeppole are a type of Sicilian/Italian pastry that are typically deep-fried and served with various toppings like honey, sugar, or cinnamon sugar. The dough is indeed light and tender, making them incredibly delightful to bite into. The flavor is usually enhanced by the toppings or fillings if you wish. They can be filled with custard, jelly, or even Nutella, adding another layer of deliciousness. Overall, Zeppole are a wonderful and indulgent treat enjoyed by many. Is there a particular occasion or festival where you have enjoyed Zeppole, the answer is yes, anytime is a great time for Zeppole.
