Ingredients
2 28 oz canSan Marzano whole tomatoespreferred
1 17 oz cantomato sauce
1 14 oz candiced tomatos
2 6 oz can tomato paste
2 6 oz canswater
1/4 cupvirgin olive oil
1 full blubfresh garlicdiced & sautéed in olive oil
1 1/2 tbssalt
1 tbspepper
1 tbsItalian seasoningyour choice
2 & 1/2 tbsgranulated sugar
1 stalk fresh basil leavesapprox. 7 to 10 leaves
Instructions
First, pour 1/4 cup olive oil in a heated pan, then pour in the diced garlic and let simmer on low heat a couple of minutes. Next add in the whole crushed tomatoes.Then all other ingredients in an any order and stir! Occasionally stir Let simmer on low heat from the beginning. Cook for 2 hrs. then remove lid and cook for another 1/2 hour. Vito's Sunday Sauce will make enough to serve 6 to 8 Family & Friends. NOTE : This sauce is slightly sweet, add sugar at your discretion. Be sure to top your beautiful dish with Romano Cheese! Now Bon Appetite Salute' Vito!
